In 1994 the American Rose Society established the ARS Bronze Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize “outstanding and meritorious service at the local society level”. It is the highest award the Ventura County Rose Society can bestow on a member.
At the end of 2016 your Board of Directors voted unanimously to present the Award for that year to Roz Thebaud.
Roz has been a very active member of the VCRS. In past years she has served on the Board of Directors and various committees. In 2015 when we decided to resume putting out a monthly newsletter and needed someone to be the editor Roz was the first name that came to my mind. Fortunately for all of us she cheerfully took on the task. With each month’s edition we get to see the results of her creativity spill on to these pages.
The Ventura County Rose Society has given out this award since 2001. Roz joins past winners including Jeri Jennings, Jim Delahanty, Sue Diller, Sue Munday, Dawn-Marie Johnson, Paddy Ruzella, Pat Moomey, Ingrid Wapelhorst, Connie Estes, Earl Holst, Janet Sklar, Kathy Ayers, Sue Rosecrans, and Jane Delahanty.
Congratulations Roz, well deserved!
